Getting Started

RotoCore is a full-stack DFS (Daily Fantasy Sports) analytics and lineup-building platform. It combines advanced stats, custom metrics, and a powerful lineup builder to help you create smarter DraftKings lineups—without needing to be a data scientist.

The RotoCore optimizer uses advanced mathematical algorithms (linear programming) to find the best player combinations based on your projections, salary constraints, and strategic preferences.

The optimizer supports DraftKings NFL contests in both Classic and Captain (Showdown) formats.

  1. Navigate to the NFL Optimizer
  2. Select your DraftKings contest from the dropdown
  3. The player pool will automatically load with current salaries and positions
  4. Adjust projections and settings as desired
  5. Click "Build Lineups" to generate optimal combinations
  6. Export your lineups to CSV and upload to DraftKings

See our How It Works guide for detailed step-by-step instructions.

Yes, you need to create a free account to use the optimizer. This allows us to save your custom projections, settings, and build history.

Your account also gives you access to premium features and ensures your data is securely stored.

RotoCore supports DraftKings NFL contests:

  • NFL Classic: Standard 9-position lineups (QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, DST)
  • NFL Captain Mode: Showdown contests with 1 Captain + 5 FLEX

No. DFS always involves risk, and no optimizer or projection system can guarantee positive results.

RotoCore's goal is to give you cleaner data, better tools, and more control over your strategy so you can make more informed decisions—not to promise profits. Please play responsibly.

Using the Optimizer

Click on any player's projection value in the player grid to edit it. Your custom projections are automatically saved and will be used for all future lineup builds.

We recommend adjusting projections based on your research, injury updates, weather conditions, and matchup analysis.

Lock: Forces a player into every generated lineup. Use this for cash game core plays or tournament players you want in 100% of your lineups.

Exclude: Removes a player from the player pool entirely. They won't appear in any lineups. Use this to fade injury risks, poor matchups, or chalk you want to avoid.

Exposure controls let you set minimum and maximum percentages for how often a player appears across your lineup pool.

Examples:

  • Min 50%, Max 70%: Player appears in 50-70% of lineups (core GPP play)
  • Min 0%, Max 30%: Player appears in at most 30% of lineups (pivot/contrarian play)
  • Min 100%, Max 100%: Same as "Lock" - player in every lineup

Exposure controls are essential for GPP multi-entry strategy to balance your player distribution.

Stacking means rostering multiple players from the same team or game to leverage correlation. When a QB throws a TD, both the QB and WR score points together.

Common Stack Types:

  • Primary Stack: QB + 2-3 receivers from same team
  • Bring-Back: Primary stack + opposing team player
  • Game Stack: Multiple players from the same game

Stacking is critical for GPP success because it increases your lineup ceiling through correlated scoring. See our Strategy Guide for detailed stacking strategies.

Cash Games (50/50s, Double-Ups): Build 1-3 lineups. You only need to beat 50% of the field, so quality over quantity.

Small GPPs: Build 20-40 lineups. Enough diversity to increase your odds without needing excessive entries.

Large GPPs: Build 100-150 lineups. Maximum entries allowed in most DraftKings tournaments. Use exposure controls to balance your player pool.

The optimizer supports up to 150 lineups per build, matching DraftKings' maximum entry limits.

The Lineup Pruning Tool lets you intelligently reduce your lineup count after building. Instead of rebuilding from scratch, pruning filters your existing lineups using strategic algorithms to keep the best combinations while removing redundancy.

Four Pruning Strategies:

  • Smart Diversity: Minimizes player overlap for maximum uniqueness
  • Top Performers: Keeps highest projected point totals
  • Salary Efficient: Prioritizes best points-per-dollar value
  • Stack Diversity: Preserves different team stacking combinations

Use pruning when you've built 150+ lineups and need to trim to contest entry limits, or when you want to rebalance player exposure. For detailed strategy guidance, see our Strategy Guide.

Randomness controls how much variation exists between your lineups. It adds some "noise" to projections to create diverse builds.

  • 0-10% (Low): Lineups are very similar, all near-optimal. Best for cash games.
  • 15-30% (Medium-High): Significant lineup diversity. Best for GPPs to create unique builds.
  • 50%+ (Very High): Extreme variation. Generally not recommended unless testing edge cases.

Use low randomness for cash games and higher randomness for GPPs to maximize uniqueness.

The CSV export file is formatted for DraftKings bulk lineup upload:

  1. Download the CSV file after building lineups
  2. Log in to DraftKings and navigate to your contest
  3. Click "Upload Lineups" or "Import from CSV"
  4. Select your downloaded file
  5. DraftKings will instantly import all your lineups
  6. Review and confirm your entries

This saves massive time compared to manually entering 20-150 lineups!

Plans & Billing

RotoCore has a free tier and a single paid option:

  • Free: Build up to 20 lineups per run with the basic optimizer settings
  • Season Pass ($39.95): One payment for the entire NFL season — up to 150 lineups per run, stacking, exposure limits, all advanced settings, and CSV export

The season pass is a one-time charge, not a subscription. Visit our Pricing Page for full details.

No. The season pass is a one-time payment — there is no subscription and nothing to cancel.

Your access runs through the end of the NFL season. When the next season comes around you can choose to buy a new pass.

We use Stripe to process payments securely. We accept all major credit and debit cards.

All payment information is handled securely by Stripe and is never stored on our servers.

Technical & Support

Build times depend on the number of lineups requested:

  • 1-3 lineups: 15-30 seconds
  • 20-40 lineups: 1-2 minutes
  • 100-150 lineups: 2-3 minutes

Times may vary based on server load and the complexity of your constraints (stacking rules, exposure limits, etc.).

We offer multiple optimization solvers (branded with custom names for ease of use):

  • PROTON (PULP_CBC_CMD): Default solver. Fast, reliable, best for most builds. (Recommended)
  • TITAN-lite (SCIP_CMD): Alternative solver for different optimization paths
  • Additional Solvers: COIN_CMD, GLPK_CMD available for variety in large multi-entry builds

For GPPs, consider rotating between solvers across your lineup pool to create additional uniqueness and avoid duplicate lineups.

Yes! All custom projections, locked/excluded players, exposure settings, and build preferences are automatically saved to your account.

You can log out and return later to pick up exactly where you left off.

Yes! The optimizer is fully responsive and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

However, we recommend using a desktop or tablet for the best experience when managing large multi-entry builds due to the data-intensive interface.
